Working alongside Community Living Mississauga employees, volunteers will support teens who have an intellectual disability to fully participate in various activities throughout the Mississauga Community to enjoy all the summer has to offer youth.
Position Requirements
- Volunteers must be a minimum of 15 years of age to a maximum of 25
- Volunteers will commit to volunteer for at least one week (Monday – Friday, 8:30 am – 4:30 pm) for up to eight weeks.
- Under the supervision of Community Living Mississauga employees, the volunteer will be an encouraging friend, supporter and role model to youth aged 13 – 21 while they take part in recreational activities throughout the Mississauga community
- Volunteers will complete Community Living Mississauga’s Orientation and Training and agree to follow the Volunteer Policies and Procedures

Volunteer Qualifications
- A friendly, empathetic person interested in improving the quality of life of someone who has an intellectual disability
- An ability to motivate and encourage
- Well-developed interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to work with minimum supervision in a team setting
- Has knowledge of, or sensitivity to, the needs and challenges of people who have an intellectual disability
- Can volunteer a minimum of one week (Monday – Friday) from 8:30 am – 4:30 pm
Orientation and Training
- Must attend a 2-hour Orientation and Training Session

- Provide three personal references
- Sign a Volunteer Agreement
- Provide Proof of Double Vaccination against COVID-19
- If over 18, provide a clear Vulnerable Sector Check
- Attend Orientation and Training
