Position Goals

For July and August, Community Living Mississauga invites volunteers aged 15-24 to support teens who have an intellectual disability to enjoy all that summer has to offer youth in Mississauga (must be finishing grade ten in 2025).

Whether you can volunteer for one week or more, we know you will enjoy supporting teens’ participation in summer activities, such as sports, art, movies, swimming, bowling, etc.

Position Description

Working under the supervision of Community Living Mississauga employees, volunteers must commit to volunteering for a minimum of one week (Monday – Friday). The volunteers are responsible for providing support to youth (ages 13 to 21), while they take part in many different recreational activities in the community. Duties include:

  1. Encourage and support youth to fully participate in various activities and community outings.
  2. To volunteer as part of a team with our employees.
  3. To make a commitment to volunteer for a minimum of one week Monday to Friday.
  4. Volunteers will be required to complete Community Living Mississauga’s Orientation and Training and agree to follow the Volunteer Policies and Procedures.

Position Requirements

  • Minimum Age – 15 (finishing Grade 10)
  • A commitment of one week (July – August)
  • Casual virtual interview with the Manager, Volunteer Services
  • Three references (personal references accepted)
  • Vulnerable Sector Check for applicants over 18
  • Attendance at a 2-hour orientation
