Whistleblowers Policy
Community Living Mississauga is committed to establishing a secure and transparent mechanism for reporting unethical, illegal, or improper conduct. This policy promotes accountability and ensures that persons reporting concerns are protected.
Community Living Mississauga maintains multiple policies and reporting processes tailored to different stakeholders. Issues such as abuse, neglect, workplace harassment, and discrimination are addressed through existing employee policies. Separate complaint processes, such as the Complaints/Concerns and Feedback Mechanism, are also available to people we support, their families or advocates, and members of the public.
This policy is not intended to replace existing policies or processes, but to complement and reinforce the shared responsibility of all stakeholders to report concerns appropriately.
Scope:
It is the shared responsibility of all employees and volunteers, contractors, suppliers, and stakeholders of Community Living Mississauga.
Reportable Conduct:
Examples of actions covered under this policy include, but not limited to:
- Fraud or financial misconduct
- Legal or regulatory violations
- Health, safety, or environmental concerns
- Breaches of company policies or ethics

Whistleblowers should provide a detailed account of their concerns, including relevant dates, people involved, and evidence, if any. All reports are fully documented and recorded in the Organizational Complaints database.
Confidentiality and Anonymity
The organization will maintain the confidentiality of whistleblowers to the extent possible.
All persons involved in an investigation, including the complainant, respondent, and witnesses, are required to keep all information strictly confidential.
The Executive Director or designate will respond to the complainant and the respondent.
Retaliation/Reprisal
There shall be no retaliatory measures or penalties taken against any person for bringing forward in good faith a formal written concern.
