Community Living Mississauga continues to address the steps necessary to address the COVID-19 pandemic.
We would like to share the following updates:
- The Ministry of Children, Community and Social Services has been working with Public Health Ontario on an updated package of Infection Prevention and Control educational modules to support preparedness for future waves of COVID-19.
There are several useful resources, courses and webinars which address foundational elements of Infection Prevention and Control practices in various settings which have been updated and organized for easier use across the workforces as well as specific information for family members/caregivers.
These resources can be accessed through:
- In keeping with our open communication, we would like to provide an update that one of our employees who works in the area of 24 hour support tested positive for COVID-19 in the past 2 weeks. Unfortunately, two people we provide support to also tested positive.
Every precautionary step was taken to ensure the well-being of the people we support and our employees. We are pleased to report that everyone has recovered and is doing well!
- As recently communicated, effective November 10th, visits to the home of a person receiving support will no longer be arranged. At this time, Community Living Mississauga will only facilitate visits away from a person’s home. Visits will be arranged through support staff and take place in local outdoor public spaces such as parks. We will continue to monitor this practice and it is our hope that we will be able to facilitate visits closer to home (backyards) in the near future once again. However, visits will only be planned for in local outdoor public spaces at this time.
This restriction will continue to be in place until further notice.
We wish to acknowledge the patience and understanding of the people we support, our employees and families! We have been devoted supporters of one another and we need to continue to do so into the future!
Resilience and strength together!
