In 2013, Stanley Black & Decker and Community Living Mississauga’s Employment Resource Centre connected to support inclusive hiring within their Mississauga location. It was clear from the start that Stanley Black & Decker was a business champion-with them making the first contact and committing to hiring multiple people who have an intellectual disability to support their commitment to diversity and inclusion in the workforce.
In 2014, Stanley Black & Decker was recognized as Community Living Mississauga’s Employer of the Year and have since committed to sharing their success with other employers through business panels and one-on-one connections with employers looking to learn from their success.
