CORONAVIRUS (COVID-19) UPDATE – Cancellation of Short Stay Family Visit Guidelines
On October 8, 2020 Community Living Mississauga was advised by the Ministry of Children, Community and Social Services that the Region of Peel has “exhibited a change in level of community risk related to COVID-19” and we have received directives from the Ministry to implement “enhanced precautions” in all of our 24 hour residential support locations. This includes discontinuing all Short Stay Family Visits. Therefore, effective immediately all scheduled Short Stay Family Visits will be cancelled and no future visits of this kind will be scheduled until further notice.
While we recognize that this is a hardship for families and the people we support, particularly as we approach the Thanksgiving weekend, we must follow Ministry directives that include these enhanced precautions, for the safety of all.
We are pleased that we will be able to continue to facilitate backyard and outdoor visits at this time and ask that you refer back to the guidelines regarding these types of visits.
