Brampton MPP Sara Singh recently introduced a private member’s Bill in the legislature that, if passed, would help end biases against Down syndrome pregnancy. The Bill is called Harvey and Gurvir’s Law, named after Harvey Thompson, who is the son of Perfectly Me co-founder Sarah Thompson, and Singh’s sister Gurvir. It would ensure that up-to-date, evidence based information relating to Down syndrome is made available to health professionals and to the public, particularly expectant parents.
