Nearly 150 golfers braved a scorching hot day on Aug. 24th at Community Living Mississauga’s 2021 Golf Classic and helped to raise an amazing $88,000!
This year’s tournament was a little different due to COVID guidelines. Instead of a shotgun start, there were staggered tee times. Instead of a large group dinner in the dining room, foursomes ate their post-round meal on the patio. Instead of writing silent auction bids on a sheet of paper, golfers’ bidding was done online using their phones.
But the one thing that wasn’t different was the end result – a fun day that benefitted unfunded programs at Community Living Mississauga.
“For the past year and a half, Community Living Mississauga has faced some real financial challenges when it comes to its unfunded programs,” explained tournament Chair and Community Living Mississauga Board Member, Grey Symons. “I am thrilled that we were able to finally hold an event again and that so many people came out to support the organization by participating in this tournament.”
Golfers were treated to numerous on-course activities, contests, a meal and many giveaways.
“An event like this wouldn’t be have been possible without the support of our many sponsors, volunteers and dedicated teams who planned and coordinated the day,” said Symons.
Congratulations to all of the winners at the event and thanks to everyone who made this year’s tournament possible.
