The word community brings to mind being part of something larger and it is well known as a source of good feelings. It evokes a sense of belonging and brings people together despite their differences.
Supporting people who have an intellectual disability to define what community is for themselves, then ensure that their quality of life in that community is meaningfully improved, has been the basis of everything we have done at Community Living Mississauga for nearly 70 years.
We currently support more than 3,000 people who have an intellectual disability to be a part of their community by offering a wide variety of programs. However, several of these programs are unfunded.
This is why, on this Giving Tuesday, we are asking you to donate $20 (or more if you wish) to help us continue to offer programs which allow people to actively participating in community-based activities.
If every one of our connections gave $20, we could double the amount we raised last year and perhaps reach as much as $80,000!
Please donate today and help us to ensure people who have an intellectual disability are able to define what community is to them and to thrive in that community!
