The HIRE Program provides:
Workshops for teaching staff and support networks
- Discussions focused on Employment First and how to support students in preparing for work in school, at home and in the community
In-class workshops for students to prepare for work
- Career exploration and opportunities to asses abilities and aptitudes to determine employment goals
- Work-readiness topics including Employer Expectations, Communication, Conflict Resolution and Interview Skills
Summer Employment Program
- Students are supported to secure a paid job for the summer months
- Students are paired with a job coach who provides on-the-job supports to enhance training and develop work-readiness skills
Co-operative Education Placements
- Support with securing a co-operative education placement in a student’s final year of school that will transition to paid employment after the student graduates
Interested candidates must provide confirmation of eligibility by Developmental Services Ontario and must be a resident of Mississauga.
