Community Living Mississauga operates a number of Community Base Sites throughout Mississauga. The goal of each Base Site is to provide people who have an intellectual disability with opportunities to participate in meaningful social, recreational and leisure activities throughout the day. People will choose activities and be supported to fully participate within the community of Mississauga.

Who is eligible?

People whose eligibility for service has been confirmed by Developmental Services Ontario (DSO) and who:

  • Are at least 21 years of age
  • Are residents of Mississauga
  • Are currently not enrolled in school
  • Have exhausted other community options and all other possible services
  • Must require support and be able to successfully participate with the provision of a six-to-one participant-to-support staff ratio
  • Are willing to participate fully within the community and to cover expenses related to activities
  • Are willing to follow the guidelines and expectations of the program

What can you expect?

  • Initial meeting to discuss support needs and interests
  • To attend a setting with approximately 30 other people who are participating in on-site activities as well as activities in the community
  • Individualized schedules and individually developed goals and choices of activities and pursuits
  • Full-day attendance up to five days (depending on availability)

Hours of operation

  • 8:30 am to 4:30 pm, Monday to Friday
  • Base Sites are closed on weekends and on all statutory holidays (No extended hours)

Cost

  • Daily fee for service and additional costs (subject to activity choice)
