We hope everyone has been staying well and keeping spirits up as much as possible. As the weeks have passed, it is encouraging that the Province of Ontario has seen significant improvements with respect to the prevalence of COVID-19. As you are aware, Community Living Mississauga continues to be extremely cautious and careful as we ensure the well-being of the people we support and our employees.

While the role remained unchanged for a large number of employees during the pandemic, program closures resulted in some employees being reassigned or forced to work remotely. Regardless of the circumstance, we commend all the employees of Community Living Mississauga for their dedication, commitment and willingness to respond in whatever way was needed.

We are slowly moving forward with the following changes to some of our programs and services. We have established detailed procedures and protocols and feel confident in all the measures that are in place to proceed.

Effective Monday July 13, 2020:

  • Our Head Office location will be reopening however restricted to only 30 employees at any given time and only certain departments. As a result, Head Office employees will also continue to work the majority of their week remotely.
  • The Base site locations will be offering small group in- person activities in addition to virtual activities on a limited basis at this time.
  • Summer programs will be offered to children and teens including small group in- person activities in addition to virtual activities on a limited basis at this time.

It is a move in the right direction! We wish to thank everyone for their support during this difficult time particularly families and people we support who have not been able to participate in any activity outside their family home due to the pandemic and the imposed restrictions. While we are still a long way from resuming normal schedules, we will continue to monitor the situation and plan accordingly.

Resilience and strength together!
