As you are aware, Ontario has reported another day of record high COVID-19 cases at 4812. This is a single-day high since the pandemic began. Of those reported cases today, 851 were in Peel Region.

Premier Ford announced a two week extension to the “Stay at Home” order in addition to a  number of additional restrictions across the province to help mitigate the spread of this virus. As an organization that is committed to the health and well-being of the people we support and our employees, we must announce the following change to family visits.

Effective Saturday April 17, 2021 at 12:01 am Community Living Mississauga will only be allowing support staff and healthcare professionals within 24-hour support locations. Unfortunately, all in-person family visits will be discontinued.

We completely understand that this is very stressful as a family member however, we must safeguard the people we support and our employees. We are asking you to help us avoid any potential outbreak of this highly infectious virus.

We are so grateful to families for your ongoing support and appreciate your understanding as we implement measures that are difficult but the right thing to do at this time.

Although we are all truly fatigued and frustrated, we need to persevere and remain steadfast in doing what we can to stop the spread of COVID-19!
