Each May, Community Living Month provides an opportunity to pay homage to the hundreds of people who make it possible for Community Living Mississauga to continue offering a wide range of residential, social and employment supports to more than 3000 individuals who have an intellectual disability.
Building a community which is inclusive of everyone, regardless of ability is a daunting task – one that cannot be accomplished by a single person or organization. Community Living Mississauga is doing its part by supporting people who have an intellectual disability to be active members of their communities.
While we continue to move toward a society which is welcoming to all, the journey is far from over. Until individuals who have an intellectual disability are seen in the same light as any other citizen of this city, Community Living Mississauga will continue providing support to individuals who have an intellectual disability to ensure their quality of life in the community is meaningfully improved.
Thanks to everyone who braved the cold, windy weather on Wednesday, May 1st to help us kick off Community Living Month by raising the Community Living Mississauga flag at City Hall.
