Each May, Community Living Month provides an opportunity to say thank you to the hundreds of people who make it possible for Community Living Mississauga to continue offering a wide range of residential, social and employment supports.

Over the past year, the employees and volunteers at Community Living Mississauga were inspired to find new and innovative ways to support people to be active members of their communities, despite the challenges of the ongoing pandemic.

Thanks to enhanced safety standards, use of new technology and creative thinking by support teams, the more than 3000 people supported by Community Living Mississauga were able to stay connected to their friends, families and communities.

The online friendships that have been made will be able to develop into in-person friendships. People who explored places virtually during the lockdown are now able to visit them in person. The new skills and supports that were developed over the past year will be used long into the future.

We have a lot to celebrate thanks to our amazing employees and volunteers. On Monday, May 9th, Mississauga’s Civic Centre Clock Tower will be lit up in green and blue as a thank you to everyone associated with Community Living Mississauga and to celebrate the achievements of the Community Living movement.
