June 23rd, 2014 – August 22, 2014 (this includes up to 4 days of training)

42 hours/week, up to 12 weeks

Rate of pay – *$12/hour (*pending funding approval)


Community Living Mississauga is a non-profit organization, which provides support to individuals who have an intellectual disability so that their quality of life in the community is meaningfully improved.


The Summer Teen Activity Program provides teens who have an intellectual disability, ages 13 to 21, with a summer program option.  Staff provide support to small groups of teens to plan and participate in a variety of community activities such as sports, arts, movies and local day trips based on the interests of the teens.  Each group meets at a local community centre.  From these locations the day is spent participating in planned activities in the community.



  •   Valid Emergency First Aid/CPR Certificate
  •   Experience supporting people who have an intellectual disability


Summer Staff provide direct support to teens in community activities.  In addition, Summer Staff also have record-keeping and program-planning responsibilities, must attend weekly staff meetings and promote the inclusion of teens into community activities.  Staff must be comfortable providing personal care support, participating in all activities with the teens including swimming, and be physically fit to perform the essential duties of the job including performing lifts and transfers as necessary.
