Youth Involvement Mississauga is a social club for individuals between the ages of 13-21 who have an intellectual disability. The group meets every Wednesday evening usually from 7-9 p.m. and has fun doing different activities every week.
There is no registration fee to join Youth Involvement Mississauga. Individuals interested in joining Youth Involvement Mississauga must meet the eligibility requirements for Community Living Mississauga.
Who can join?
Anyone who has an intellectual disability and is between the ages of 13 and 21 can join the group. If you are not currently supported through Service Coordination by Community Living Mississauga, you will need to provide documentation to ensure you meet the eligibility criteria.
Do you have to pay to join?
There is no registration fee to join Youth Involvement Mississauga.
What does the group do?
In the past the group has gone to the movies, Laser Quest, and in house activities have included games night, karaoke and guest speakers. In the summer, the groups have gone to Canada’s Wonderland and to the Canadian National Exhibition!
When does the group meet?
The group meets every Wednesday evening usually from 7-9 p.m. Meeting times may be adjusted depending on the activity. Punctuality is important. The group will be waiting for you so be sure to call the hotline to let us know if you aren’t able to make it.
Do I have to do everything the group does?
No. While you are with the group, you are expected to take part in the activities but if the schedule has an event that you don’t want to do, you don’t have to come.
How are activities paid for?
Members are expected to pay their own way into activities.
