Almost nine years ago, the Harper government signed and ratified the UN Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities, but it never took the crucial step of signing and ratifying its Optional Protocol — the tool for reporting and investigating violations by endorsing nations.

If Canada truly wants to protect some of its most vulnerable citizens, the Trudeau government needs to attend to this unfinished business of the previous government.  Families across the country are counting on Prime Minister Justin Trudeau to do the right thing and act without further delay.

Please sign this petition and urge Prime Minister Trudeau to add this important task to his ambitious agenda.
