This past April, the co-operators invited Community Living Mississauga to host a display at their 2015 Annual General Meeting.  The invitation was part of a nation-wide initiative to focus on local charities which are making a difference in their communities.

Eugene Nolin, President of the Community Living Mississauga Board of Directors, and Debbie Moffatt, Director of Quality and Community Development, both had the opportunity to speak at the event and discuss how the relationship between the co-operators and Community Living Mississauga has made a positive impact on individuals supported by our organization.

Included in the opening evening activities was a fundraising raffle to raise money for Community Living Mississauga. Thanks to the generous participation of employees from across Canada, and a match amount from the organization, the co-operators representatives Jeannie Shore and Dave Pecharich were able to present a cheque for $6000 to Keith Tansley, Executive Director of Community Living Mississauga and Debbie Moffatt.

The cooperators has also partnered with Community Living Mississauga’s Employment Resource Centre offering work experience opportunities in addition to collaboratively volunteering with participants from one of our base site locations to clean a community park. Both organizations are excited about the future as they work together to find new opportunities in which they can work together to promote inclusion throughout Mississauga.
