On November 27, 2017 the Province of Ontario passed Bill 148 (Fair Workplaces, Better Jobs Act, 2017).

The passing of this piece of Legislation could have implications for individuals whohave an intellectual disability and their families. In particular, families who rely on funding such as Passport, Special Service at Home (SSAH) and any other sources of direct funding.

On January 25, 2018, Community Living Mississauga made arrangements for Cheryl W. Pooran, of Pooran Law Professional Corporation, to provide a free information session for people and families in our community to help them understand the changes in the law and what it means for them, and to share helpful resources and tips for engaging workers using your individualized funding.
