Greg Symons, Tournament Chair, announces the amount raised by the nearly 200 golfers who participated in the 2014 Community Living Mississauga Golf Classic.

Nearly 200 golfers, an army of volunteers and a dedicated team of Community Living Mississauga staff braved the hottest day of 2014 for the 11th Annual Community Living Mississauga Golf Classic at Lionhead Golf and Country Club.

By the time the evening air finally started to cool, more than $97,000 had been raised.

Following a pre-round lunch, golfers took to the links where they were treated to many on-course activities, contests and food stations.

Once back in the clubhouse, golfers were treated to a Cheese Station donated by Pristine Fine Foods and had the opportunity to participate in a raffle draw.

Prior to dinner, former summer programs participant Michael Lazowski shared some of his experiences with those in attendance.

Following dinner, the day’s awards were handed out and honoured guest, Mayor Hazel McCallion, reminisced about the impact Community Living Mississauga has had on the city during her term in office.

The day would not have been possible without the support of many volunteers from Scotiabank and Cummins Eastern Canada who manned the on-course activities.

Congratulations go out to all of the contest and tournament winners and a big thank you to everyone who made the day a huge success!
